When Zeek’s Pizza – a neighborhood original that opened at 6000 Phinney Avenue in 1996 – quietly closed last month, it hardly left a dent in our thriving cheesy pie scene: The Ridge, Windy City Pie, Cornuto, La Rocca, BoBu, and Razzi’s have continued without a beat. However, a new player has emerged with Seattle-area pizzeria Stevie’s Famous preparing to open its third location.
Winner of the 2024 Best Pizza in the City in a Seattle Times reader poll, Stevie’s already operates two outlets — the original in Burien and a second inside the Clock‑Out Lounge on Beacon Hill. According to the company’s website, the expansion reflects growing customer demand and a desire to bring its signature whole pies and slices to additional neighborhoods.
The new site will follow the same model of naturally-leavened dough, “iconic” sourdough crust, high-quality ingredients, and unique pairings. The owners say they selected the neighborhood for its vibrant food culture* and community fit, and plan to maintain their focus on local sourcing and consistent baking style.
With this third opening, Stevie’s expects to deepen its footprint in the Seattle market and build on the positive reviews it has garnered for its crust and flavor execution. The launch date and exact location are still being finalized.
