Windy City Pie, Phinney Ridge’s neighborhood Chicago-Style pizza restaurant and bar, is pleased to announce the launch of their new Friday happy hour, beginning October 3, 2025. The weekly event, from Noon to 4:00 PM on Fridays, will offer guests the choice of any pizza slice on their rotating menu, paired with a Rainier tall boy or choice of a non-alcoholic canned beer, for the service-inclusive price of only $10 plus tax.
“Since we opened our doors in Phinney Ridge we’ve been honored to host guests from our immediate—and larger—communities in a cozy and family-friendly space,” says Windy City Owner, Dave Lichterman. “This new happy hour is our way of saying thank you to customers who have supported us, and look to as a favorite post-zoo lunch spot, neighborhood dinner destination, or third space to unwind after work.”
Windy City Pie began in 2015 as a word-of-mouth pizza business originally operating out of Lichterman’s condo. The restaurant has grown from a “speakeasy” pizza takeout business utilizing a commissary kitchen, to a full-service restaurant at 5918 Phinney Avenue in 2019. In 2025 they went service charge and tip free in hopes of offering clearer pricing to guests at a time when most businesses are opting for the opposite.
Customers love Windy City Pie for their creative pizzas and cocktails, and their ever-changing menu which now includes “Tavern” style thin crust, their “Breezy Town” Chicago/Detroit hybrid pan pizza, and most recently: garlic knots. Their flagship Chicago-style Deep-Pan Deep Dish pizza is highly regarded as one of the world’s best implementations of the style by James Beard award winning author and New York Times columnist J. Kenji Lopez-Alt.
