Housed in the former Greenwood Cleaners location on 77th and Greenwood, Fortuna Sandwiches is set to open on September 3rd (official time has not yet been announced). You can expect 7 different sandwiches on a daily basis: five meat-based (think capicola, mortadella, prosciutto), a tuna sandwich, and one vegetarian. The meats and cheeses will all be imported, and there will be no more than 5 ingredients on a sandwich.
The bread will be Schiacciata (pronounced ski-a-chatta) from Bakery Nouveau, a thinner, crispier bread than focaccia. It allows for a โmarriageโ between the bread and whatโs inside so there isnโt too much of one thing.
