Help support Greenwood’s The Couth Buzzard Summer Solstice Jazz Festival, June 20-22, 2025! This musical weekend program includes jazz performances ranging from contemporary composed and improvised music to the avant-garde, featuring our community’s outstanding musicians.
This crowdfunding effort from GoFundMe Co-Creators Patti Feavel and Carol J Levin has a modest goal of $4,500. All donations will be used for the creation and production of this festival and for the remuneration of the best of local jazz talent of diverse ethnic and gender identities in getting their music heard. Your donation supports this gift of live music and the cultural arts to the Greenwood community. Festival promotional support also provided by Earshot Jazz.

Festival Director, Kenny Mandell has been leading ensembles, jam sessions, percussion collaborations and providing jazz education for over 15 years. This will be a great opportunity to experience and support the sparkling Seattle talents he’s gathered. Recently, Kenny relayed:
“This will be the fifth Jazz Festival that I have produced at the Couth Buzzard bookstore. It has been 5 long years since the pandemic shut down this event. My intention is to present some of the more creative and original Jazz groups in the Seattle area. The goal is to make the festival as inclusive as possible – representing diverse ethnic groups and genders. At this moment in history, we need more community and cooperation in our collective musical world.”
General admission will be available at the door if space is available and on a pay-as-you-can basis, No one turned away for lack of funds.
