The PhinneyWood Summer Arts Festival on Sunday, June 8th isn’t just about browsing art—it’s about making it! From clay and ink to improv and indigo, the festival workshops offer something for every age and interest. Most are low-cost, and spots are limited, so it is recommend booking early to avoid missing out. 

The Festival Date will be held at the Phinney Center (6532 Phinney Ave N) from 11am–5pm, and you can enjoy the works of more than 80 artists, workshops, live music, food trucks, a beer garden, and more.

Workshop Lineup:

Epoxy Resin Ocean Tray
3–5pm | Ages 12+ | $60 
Create an ocean-inspired serving tray and coaster using colorful epoxy resin. 

Indigo Dyeing
11:30am–12:30pm | Ages 12+ | $30 
Learn folding and binding techniques to dye two tea towels—plus bring your own natural fiber item (an old t-shirt? unique napkins?) for a second life in blue. 

Wild Flowers, Wild Ink
12–1pm (Ages 6–12) & 3–4pm (Ages 13+) | $20 
Use handmade floral ink from Bumblebee Farm to create botanical drawings and paintings. 

Parent & Me Portraits
12–12:45pm | Ages 8+ | $15 
Sketch and paint a portrait of your parent, child, or pal in this guided graphite and watercolor session. 

Family Improv Workshop
1–2pm | All Ages | $10 
Laugh and create together in this fun intro to improv games and storytelling, led by Taproot Theatre. 

Textured Trinket Dishes
11am–1:30pm | Ages 12+ | $50 
Create 1–2 decorative clay dishes using stamps and texture tools—perfect for jewelry or snacks. 

Custom Garden Sticks
3–4:30pm | Ages 13+ | $40 
Design four ceramic markers to personalize your garden or planter pots—hands-on and eco-friendly! 

Block Printing with Nicole Piggott
$10 | Ages 3+ | In the Artist Marketplace 
Print your own canvas zipper pouch using whimsical block designs from Nicole’s Signal Box artwork. This is a drop-In activity with no booking needed!

Mini Maker’s Garden Box
$20 | Ages 5+ | In the Artist Marketplace 
Build your own cedar planter box with the PNA Tool Library—no tools or experience needed!. This is a drop-In activity with no booking needed!
