At their annual awards gala, the NAIOP handed out an illustrious award to PhinneyWood’s newest multifamily building, The Hemlock Apartments. Located on 87th and Greenwood – and future home of a long-anticipated Trader Joe’s – is one of the most unique and beautiful facilities that has come to the community in recent years.
The Hemlock offers a variety of apartments, including many affordable homes through the MFTE program. The building offers amenities such as a resident fitness center and a spectacular rooftop deck with panoramic views of the surrounding neighborhood and the Olympic Mountains. New lessees receive up to two months of free rent – and soon, the convenience of grabbing a bottle of Four Buck Chuck and a package of Jo-Jos just a few steps from your home. You can schedule a tour here.
Steffenie Evans, Senior VP of Development for the Hemlock’s parent company, writes “We are thrilled to be adding a Trader Joe’s location to the Greenwood neighborhood. A neighborhood survey back in 2018 revealed a tremendous desire to have Trader Joe’s in the community, so we are pleased we could make it happen. We are grateful for the PNA’s involvement early in the design process and their ongoing support of our efforts.”
Construction is underway and we are hopeful of a 2025 debut for the store. Per Trader Joe’s website:
