Every other year, the Seattle Commute Survey helps us understand how people get around Seattle & informs planning, advocacy, and programming city-wide. The survey goes out to people who work within the City of Seattle. The survey was administered through a partnership between Commute Seattle, the Mobility Innovation Center at the University of Washington. In Fall 2022, Commute Seattle received over 64,000 survey responses, meaning we heard from one out of ten people who work in Seattle.
Large employers (businesses & organizations with over 100 employees) are legally required to have their employees participate in the study. While this provides a lot of data, it also means that the voices of small businesses have often been underrepresented in previous survey cycles. This year Commute Seattle is working with neighborhoods to elevate the voices of small business employees & to give neighborhood specific small business data back to business improvement associations, neighborhood groups, and chambers of commerce. Filling out this survey will help PhinneyWood gain better insight on how people are getting around this amazing community!Â
