Verity Credit Union offering non-profit organizations a $5000 Microgrant opportunity

by | Sep 25, 2024

Verity Credit Union, a local CDFI known for its socially responsible, community-rooted banking, is offering select non-profit organizations $5000 in unrestricted support. Applications for the Verity Microgrant Program are now being accepted through October 15, 2024. Non-profit organizations with limited access to traditional funding due to size, age, or tax-exemption status are strongly encouraged to apply.

The Microgrant Program provides $5000 in unrestricted support for non-profit organizations whose work benefits historically underserved communities within Washington state – aligning with Verity’s mission of addressing systemic barriers that face excluded communities.

The program is structured to prioritize non-profit organizations:

  • Whose work explicitly supports Black, Indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities
  • Who are founded/led by members of historically marginalized communities and those with marginalized lived experiences
  • With a total asset size of less than $250,000
  • Whose work furthers social justice, environmental justice, equity, and financial wellness for all.

Those interested can apply at: https://www.veritycu.com/microgrant-program

Past recipients have used their funds for utility costs, improvements to operations including software and technology, and development to create new or improve pre-existing programs.
