Did you know that the PNA runs three preschools – Whittier Kids Preschool, Phinney Neighborhood Preschool Co-op and Ballard Preschool Co-op – and that the Phinney Center is home to two others (Jump on Languages and Orca Childcare Center)!?
All three schools are accepting registrations for the fall, with Whittier Kids in particular looking to grow. Whittier Kids Preschool is a single classroom, mixed-age preschool for children 3-5 years old onsite at Whittier Elementary (1320 NW 75th St). New students are welcome to request enrollment throughout the school year if space is available.
A typical day at WKPS includes hands-on exploration of an interesting topic, two hours of play in a variety of learning centers, meal times with friends, outside time, circle time, and music. We strive to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging space for young children to come together as a caring community of learners. Program hours are M/T/TH/F 8:00 am – 2:00 pm, and 8:00 am – 1:00 pm on Wednesday. Optional aftercare is offered until 4:30.
WKPS is licensed and monitored by the Department of Children, Youth and Families and voluntarily participates in Washington State’s Early Achievers program.
