There is some exciting news that unique Phinney Ridge non-profit landscaping company Awesome Possum Landscaping (APL) has to share… they are growing! This summer APL expanded to two crews and now have 7 workers (“possums”) on their team. This is particularly exciting because APL trains and hires individuals with disabilities to provide quality landscaping services to the community and with the expansion of their second crew they can give more deserving individuals real work for real pay.
APL operator Zac Gannett is extremely excited about this development because it demonstrates the impact that the supportive community of Phinney Ridge has had on the team. Zac states “customers give Awesome Possum a try because they like the mission and then keep our teams returning because they LOVE the work.”
APL’s mission is to combat the 81% unemployment rate of individuals with disabilities and are focused on the Seattle community. Profits from APL support their umbrella non-profit organization NOC (Needs of the Community) Society which provides social and employment programs for young adults with disabilities.
