On Saturday September 30th from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm, our PhinneyWood’s Sakya Monastery is excited to welcome everyone back to the Monastery with a special open house event.
Come visit for a brief introduction to the Monastery, Darshan viewings, a visit to the Monastery shop or Library, Tibetan tea and cookies, and to see the talented Trisong Tibetan Dance Group. They are located near Fred Meyer, at 108 Northwest 83rd Street.
Sakya Monastery of Tibetan Buddhism is a place to learn from highly qualified Tibetan Lamas in a traditional setting. While called a Monastery, and monks do live there, it is primarily a lay community of practitioners, with various levels of experience in the Buddhist tradition.
Open House Schedule:
- 10:00 am: Brief introduction and Darshan viewing, followed by Q&A with Sakya Monastery docents.
- 10:30 am: Tibetan tea and other treats in the Cultural Hall. The Monastery Shop and Library will be open throughout the event.
- 11:00 am: Trisong Tibetan Dance Group
- 12:00 pm: Second Darshan viewing
