The new school year is here and with it comes the release of Illumination Learning Studio‘s school year camps. ILS is excited to present a diverse lineup of school year camps for the 2023-24 academic year. These camps offer a unique blend of fun and education, encouraging young minds to discover their creative potential while making new friends.

Do you have a budding actor, dancer, or artist in your family? “On the Spot” is the perfect opportunity for them to embrace spontaneity and hone their creative skills.

Lights, camera, action! Join us for “Music Video 101,” where your child will experience the thrill of creating their own music video, from brainstorming ideas to capturing the perfect shots.

You can learn more about this year’s themes and register on ILS’s website: https://www.illuminationlearningstudio.com/school_year_camps/

All school year camps will be held at the Greenwood Studio (7720 Greenwood Ave N, Ste 101) from 9am to 4pm. ILS also offers the option to extend the fun with before-camp drop-off starting at 8 am and after-camp pick-up until 6 pm.

At ILS, we believe that creativity knows no bounds, and our school year camps are designed to ignite the imagination and nurture artistic talents in every child. Join us on this exciting journey of self-discovery and artistic expression in the upcoming school year. Enroll your child today and watch their creativity soar!

Here’s a sneak peek of the camps:

Friday, October 13th – “On the Spot”

On the Spot is all about making up dances, acting scenes, and visual art… ON THE SPOT! The goal of this camp is to provide improvisational games and activities that will be useful for kids in future lessons. Improv can be incredibly intimidating, but this camp will give everyone a chance to try new things, take risks, think on their feet, and become comfortable using improv tools.*

Monday-Wednesday, November 20th-22nd – “Music Video 101”

In a 3-day camp setting, kids will learn about what goes into making a small-scale music video that focuses on both the song and the choreography. Along the way, the students will get to vote on the choices that will make our music video.*

Monday-Wednesday, December 18th-20th – “A Happy Hogwarts Holiday”

Young witches and wizards are invited to attend a Happy Hogwarts Holiday. Some of the activities our young magical friends can expect are to be sorted into their Hogwarts House and spend time crafting their own magical potions with various ingredients.*

Monday, January 15th – “(Print)Make a Gift”

Our (Print)Make a Gift camp will explore printmaking techniques utilizing textiles in order to create giftable works of art! Students will create two unique designs, print them on fabric products, and bring them home.*

Monday-Friday, February 19th-23rd – “Comics and Zines”

Back by popular demand! Comics and zines have populated DIY underground art scenes for decades! We will create our own comic strips and zines to explore a visual form of storytelling.*

Monday-Friday, April 8th-12th – “ILS Goes 80s”

This totally tubular camp will find our ILS campers time traveling back to the 1980s. We’ll spend each day focused on what the time period looked like through various art forms (music, dance, drama, visual art, fashion, etc.).*

Wednesday, June 19th – “Trash to Treasure”

In this camp, our artists will be learning how to create artwork using everyday objects found around the house. We will learn how to be creative through resourcefulness!*
