Chabad of NW Seattle offers High Holidays Services in Greenwood

by | Sep 1, 2023

Chabad of NW Seattle invites the community to High Holiday services at their new center right in the heart of Greenwood.

This year Rosh Hashanah begins the evening of Friday, Sep. 15th. The location 115 N 85th st, right across the Bartell Drugs. The services are open to the entire community. Reservations are required. Membership and purchasing tickets are not required.

Rosh Hashanah celebrates the Jewish New year and is a time of renewal and reflection. Yom Kippur, The Jewish day of atonement and forgiveness is a time to forgive and restore our core relationships and connection to G-d and our fellow human beings.

Chabad will also be offering Shofar at Green Lake park on Sunday evening and a community Rosh Hashanah Dinner. The Community dinner will be after services on Friday evening Sep. 15th.

The services are friendly and welcoming and are conducted by Rabbi Yoni Levitin and an out of town Cantor “When I am at Chabad for the High Holidays, the services come alive and I feel connected to my Jewish roots. The services are explained in English so I can actually understand their meaning” says Michael Goldberg.  The prayers are read in both Hebrew and English and a lively commentary and humor accompanies the service.

At Chabad, there are no membership fees or tickets sold for the High Holiday services. High Holiday donations are much appreciated and help offset the cost of providing an open door policy. Chabad is known for its open doors and welcoming atmosphere, which allows anyone in the community to enjoy any program that interests them. At Chabad we believe Judaism should be fun, joyous, and easily accessible.
