Sign up now to help shape the future vision for Aurora Avenue

Did you know that the Aurora Ave N/State Route 99 corridor is one of the highest traffic volume streets within the Seattle city limits? This north-south corridor offers some of the busiest bus routes within Seattle City limits, is critical for freight movement, and offers connections to dense housing, businesses, social services, and employment opportunities. Aurora Avenue has a history of collisions, gaps in pedestrian facilities, inconsistent streetscape design, and accessibility barriers that make travel especially difficult for people with mobility challenges.

The next opportunity for input on Aurora Avenue Project is here. The Seattle Department of Transportation will hold a Community Design Workshop on June 13th and June 15th from 5:30 to 8:30PM at the Phinney Center, to co-create with community members the future vision for Aurora Avenue.

On June 13th the project team will focus on Segment 3 of the project area (Winona Ave N to N 85th St.), and on June 15th the focus will be on Segment 2 (N 38th St to Winona Ave N).

There is limited space available. If you would like to participate, please send an email to the project team: [email protected] to show your interest and secure a slot.

The aim of this workshop is to bring together a diverse group of Segment 2 and 3 community members and key stakeholders to collaborate, discuss potential solutions and co-create ideas that will help shape the future vision for Aurora Avenue.

Discussions will focus on safety, mobility, and accessibility improvements desired that were highlighted in a survey from last year. This is an excellent opportunity to gain insight into the different needs along this segment of the corridor, and network with the project team.
