KinderReminder is a brand new Phinney neighborhood initiative from the brains behind the Gumshoe 5K that was established to promote kindness in our community. It will debut in many forms this year, from the Kind Signs you see around the neighborhood, to PIF Weekend and the POK Video Contest.
Another facet of KinderReminder is Tie-Dye Saturday which will be held from 11am to 3pm on June 6 at Ken’s Market. KinderReminder will give away 100 “Kindness is Magic” tee-shirts to kiddos who want to come and experience the magic of tye-dying (and kindness).
The catch? To receive a tee-shirt, you need to:
- Be seven to 12 years old— old enough to tie-dye.
- Tie-dye your shirt—everything you need, including guidance, will be provided.
- Write an answer to “What is kindness to you?” on a post-it note for display in Ken’s.
- Have an adult register you by May 1.
If you have a child who’d like to participate, email [email protected] with your name, your child’s name, your child’s shirt size and a time to tie-dye—11, 11:20, 11:40, 12, 12:20, 12:40, 1, etc. every 20 minutes until 3—and a contact phone number. The information is needed simply to manage the event and it will not be used for anything else.
