Mysterious piano appears in Heart of Phinney Park

by | Aug 4, 2019

Okay, we actually know the reason – it is part of One Reel’s annual “Pianos in the Parks” event. Started in 2013, is an annual event that gives the public the chance to see and play beautiful pianos painted by local artists.

One Reel describes this event as “13 pianos placed in neighborhood parks across Seattle and Eastside communities. Now with a hyper-local focus amidst the backdrop of summer in Seattle, the air will be filled with music, art and celebration.”

Our own Phinney Ridge fine artist, Sandy Nelson, has etched designs in this year’s piano. We have two outstanding local musicians slated to perform as well: Ian Ketterer on Wednesday 8/7 at 4pm, and Alexander Olsen on Friday 8/16 at noon. Mark your calendars and come on by the Heart of Phinney Park!
