The Phinney Neighborhood Association’s annual Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) festival is from 3-7 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 3, at the PNA, 6532 Phinney Ave. N.
Día de los Muertos is a Latin American holiday honoring the dead with food, drink and festivities.
The PNA’s free celebration begins with a community procession and dedication of a traditional altar for offerings to the deceased. There will be music, dancing, decorating sugar skulls, face painting, Pan de Muerto ($1) and Mexican hot chocolate ($2, cash only for both).
You can bring your offerings for the alter (pictures, mementos, small items) to the Phinney Center before or during the event to be included on the altar. (You can pick them up by Nov. 10).
