Phinney Farmers Market from 3:30-7:30 p.m. Friday in the upper parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. Fresh veggies, fruit, meat, eggs, bread, seafood, flowers, honey and lots more, plus several eat-at-the-market options.
It’s the grand opening weekend for the new VR Go! virtual reality arcade inside Works Progress Co-working at 115 N. 85th St., Suite 202, upstairs.
Couth Buzzard Books presents Bill Davie and Kat Eggleston in concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday, a Pacific NW Folklore Society celebration of Stew & Betty Hendrickson from 1-4 p.m. Saturday, Pine & Dale – Songs of the Seven Seas at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, and Open Jazz Jam with Kenny Mandell (all levels welcome) from 2-4:15 p.m. Sunday.
Phinney Neighborhood Preschool Co-op’s Fall Kids’ Gear Sale is from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., in the Brick Building in Community Hall.
Seattle Folklore Society presents Mollie O’Brien and Rich Moore at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the PNA in Community Hall.
“No God and still Jewish? How does that work?” Talk by Paul Golin at 3 p.m. Sunday at the PNA.
The Fremont Arts Council presents Luminata at Green Lake Saturday evening, to celebrate the autumnal equinox.
Everyone is invited to bring lanterns, glowing umbrellas, luminous costumes, or other beaming creations to parade along the lake. Then explore the magical art installations, interactive experiences, music and performance spread throughout the park.
The Lantern Shoppe opens at 6:30 p.m., with hand-decorated lanterns for sale. Opening ceremony and performance is at 7:30 p.m. at the Aqua Theater grandstands at the southwest end of the lake, followed by a parade of costumed people and lanterns north towards the Bathhouse Theater, and on around the lake for more art, music and performances.
Woodland Park United Methodist Church, at 302 N. 78th St., is having a ribbon cutting and dedication for its new RainWise installations (five cisterns and a rain garden) at 12 p.m. Sunday. Refreshments will be served.
Traffic-wise this weekend:
- Northbound State Route 99 will be closed between South Spokane Street and the south end of the Battery Street Tunnel from 9 p.m. Friday through 5 a.m. Monday, so Washington State Department of Transportation crews can install signage for the new tunnel. The Royal Brougham on-ramp will be open late Saturday night in time for Sunday’s Seahawks game.
