For those of you who are planning to clean out the garage on the Fourth of July and do a dump run, keep in mind that the North Transfer Station in Wallingford will be closed that day to reduce the amount of traffic in the neighborhood for the Independence Day festivities at nearby Gasworks Park.
The South Transfer Station in South Park, at 130 S. Kenyon St., will be open from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday as usual.
