Salmon Bay Lending celebrates its move from Ballard to Greenwood with an open house starting at 1 p.m. Friday, along with a food drive to support FamilyWorks, which operates the Greenwood Food Resource Center.
Masterclass piano performance with Mark Salman, free, at 6:45 p.m. Saturday at Music Center of the Northwest, 901 N. 96th St. On Saturday, Anna Doak’s double bass students perform their winter recital from 2-4 p.m. at the Music Center.

Not Without Salt, a new workshop, dining and rental space at NW 65th Street and 3rd Avenue NW, celebrates its grand opening with a party Saturday.
More than 500 people, including 100 local law enforcement officers, will take part in the Special Olympics Polar Plunge at Golden Gardens. The event includes a variety of food trucks, a heated outdoor beer garden, music and entertainment by Seattle Seahawk’s drumline Blue Thunder and Seattle Police Department’s Pipes & Drums.
Traffic wise this weekend:
- Seattle Boat Show continues through Sunday at CenturyLink Field Event Center, Bell Harbor Marina and South Lake Union.
- Washington State Department of Transportation crews will reduce I-5 to a single lane and close multiple ramps – including the northbound off-ramp to North 85th Street and the NE 70th Street on-ramp – beginning at 9 p.m. Saturday until 7 a.m. Sunday to replace overhead signs. The I-5 express lanes will remain open in the northbound direction overnight Saturday before closing at 7:30 a.m. Sunday, then reopening southbound at the normal weekend time of 8 a.m.
