Town Hall Seattle comes to Phinney Ridge and Greenwood this month

Town Hall Seattle, which is undergoing major renovations at its downtown space, is bringing its programming directly to neighborhoods. Here’s what Town Hall is bringing to Phinney Ridge, Greenwood and Green Lake this month. All events are $5.

  • “Rural Voices: Confronting Climate Change Through Community Art,” in collaboration with the Phinney Neighborhood Association, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 7, at the PNA, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. “Public artist Carolyn Law and conservationist Jim Walls discuss climate change and form a revolutionary crowd-built art piece from the words of urban and rural communities.”
  • “Oliver Uberti with Melinda Holland: Tracking Animals With Big Data,” in collaboration with Seattle University, at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 10, at the Greenwood Senior Center, 525 N. 85th St. “Visual journalist Oliver Uberti is joined by Melinda Holland, CEO of Wildlife Computers, to explore new technological advancements revealing the natural world like never before.”
  • “Irene Skyriver: Paddling with Spirits,” at 6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 19, at the Bathhouse Theater, 7312 W. Green Lake Dr. N. “Debuting author Irene Skyriver recounts her adventurous kayak journey from Alaska to the San Juan islands, interweaving tales of her native heritage and inspiring self-discovery.”
  • “Resurgence: A Sounders Evening with Mayor Greg Nickels,” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the PNA, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. “Author Steven Agen and former Mayor Greg Nickels discuss the Sounders, unpacking their meteoric rise to take the 2016 MLS Cup and what their title means for soccer culture in Seattle.”
  • “The Big One: Seattle’s Overdue Superquake,” in collaboration with IRIS/SSA Distinguished Lecture Series and the PNA, at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29, at the PNA, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. “University of Seattle Seismologist Dr. John Vidale forecasts the future of earthquakes in the Pacific Northwest—discussing preparedness, consequences, and the possibility of ‘the Big One.’”
