North Seattle Boys & Girls Club in Greenwood looking for new space, will sell current building

North Seattle Boys & Girls Club, at 8635 Fremont Ave. N. in Greenwood, will soon put its aging building up for sale and is looking for a new, larger space to serve its students and families, including ones on a waiting list for programs.

Executive Director Joan Caldon says the Club is growing out of its current building.

“It is true that we are looking for a new home to serve our kids,” she told me by email. “For the past 6 years, we have seen substantial growth in our Boys & Girls Club community. At the same time, our building is rapidly aging and maintenance costs continue to rise. As we look to the future, we want to make sure that our kids continue to receive high-quality programming in a facility that can meet their needs.”

She said the Club will continue to run its programs out of its current building through the end of the school year, and is currently looking at several potential new locations.

The Club hasn’t yet listed the property, but plans to do so soon.
