Summer Food Service Program provides free meals at Seattle Parks and Recreation sites, including our neighborhood

Seattle Parks and Recreation is again offering its free Summer Food Service Program to any child aged 18 and younger at numerous locations throughout the city, from the end of June through late August.

The following food service sites are in or near our neighborhood:

  • Greenwood Park, 602 N. 87th St. Lunch served from 12-1 p.m.; snack from 3-4 p.m., Monday-Friday, June 29 through Aug. 26.
  • Viewlands Elementary, 10525 3rd Ave. NW. Breakfast from 8:30-8:50 a.m.; lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Monday-Friday, Aug. 22-26.
  • Broadview-Thomson Elementary School, 13052 Greenwood Ave. N. Breakfast from 8:30-8:50 a.m.; lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Monday-Friday, Aug. 22-26.
  • Green Lake Library, 7364 E. Green Lake Dr. N. Lunch served from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, June 27 through Aug. 31.
  • Wallingford Boys & Girls Club, 1310 N. 45th St. Lunch from 12:30-1:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, June 27 through Aug. 26.
  • Bitter Lake Community Center, 13035 Linden Ave. N. Lunch from 12-1:30 p.m., snack 3:30-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, June 27 through Aug. 26.
  • Licton Springs Elementary School, 4400 Interlake Ave. N. Breakfast from 8:30-8:55 a.m., lunch from 11:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Monday-Friday, Aug. 22-26.

The Summer Food Service Program also provides a late supper to teens participating in Parks and Rec’s Late Night Program (which runs from 7 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays). While that Late Night Program is designed to provide a safe space and resources to teens ages 13-19, anyone 18 and under can come for food service. The only Late Night Program location near Phinney-Greenwood is at the Bitter Lake Community Center, 13035 Linden Ave. N., which will serve supper from 9-10 p.m. Friday and Saturday from June 26 through Sept. 1.
