Our neighborhood’s huge annual Artwalk – The BIG One – is Friday evening and Saturday afternoon at more than 70 venues throughout Greenwood and Phinney Ridge. This was the original annual neighborhood artwalk that later expanded to include smaller monthly artwalks.

The BIG One runs from 6-9 p.m. Friday and 12-5 p.m. Saturday. You’ll hear live music at a number of galleries and other businesses, and some restaurants/pubs will offer food and drink specials.

The first annual Seattle Recycled Arts Festival will have artists at Urban Light Studios, 8537 Greenwood Ave. N., (closing at 3 p.m. Saturday) and several other sites (see the Artwalk website for details).

The Phinney Center Gallery hosts the annual NW Fine Arts Competition, with its opening reception Friday night.

Beats and Bohos, 7200 Greenwood Ave. N., features Amelia Sherritt’s recycled art, created solely with the foils from empty wine bottles.

Bohemian Studios, 7600 Greenwood Ave. N., will offer henna tattoos at, a DJ, singing and burlesque, and more.

Emerald City Karate, 8314 Greenwood Ave. N., will show off artwork by its students.
