Northwest Chamber Chorus presents ‘Music of Light’ concerts in Phinney Ridge

Northwest Chamber Chorus will present two “Music of Light” concerts on March 12 and 18 at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church, 7500 Greenwood Ave. N., with music by a variety of modern composers.

Included are O Nata Lux by Morten Lauridsen, Videntes Stellam by Francis Poulenc, Nunc Dimittis by Alexander Gretchaninoff, Aftonen (Evening) by Hugo Alvén; Settings of Sure On This Shining Night by Samuel Barber and Morten Lauridsen, and Stars by Latvian Eriks Ešenvalds, accompanied by tuned crystal water glasses.

Also on the program are Sainte-Chapelle by Eric Whitacre, Haze Gold by Philip Glass, and She Walks in Beauty by Eric William Barnum along with traditional spirituals Now Let Us Sing! arranged by Gwyneth Walker and This Little Light of Mine arranged by Moses Hogan and Shaker Songs Love is Little and Heavenly Display arranged by Kevin Siegfried.

Concerts are at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 12, and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, March 18. Tickets are $24 general; $20 senior citizens and singers; students ages 6-18 are admitted free. Tickets are available online or by calling 206-523-1196.
