Retirement party for Real Change vendor Bob is Thursday morning in front of Phinney Starbucks

by | Dec 21, 2016

Bob, who has been selling the Real Change newspaper in front of the Phinney Ridge Starbucks for more than a decade, is retiring. Some of his regular customers want to send him out in style with a special retirement party from 6-8:30 a.m. Thursday (his usual shift) at the Starbucks at the corner of Phinney Avenue North and North 67th Street.

There will be free coffee and cookies, and a jar to contribute to Bob’s “401k” if you can. Just look for the purple and gold balloons, in honor of his love for the Huskies.
Update: Bob wrote a farewell poem to all his customers:

And here he is with some of his loyal customers at his retirement party. Thanks to Mike V for the photo.
