Celebrate Seattle Public Library’s ‘Booktoberfest’ at local bars and pubs

by | Sep 27, 2016

The Seattle Public Library is celebrating Oktoberfest in its own special way, with Booktoberfest events at bars and pubs.

Readers can join in for literary happy hours, librarian-hosted trivia nights, spooky stories in bars and libraries, a “Stranger Things” ’80s film fest, literary mixology and more. All library events are free, although you’ll need to buy your own drinks. Registration is not required. Most events are for ages 21 and over.

The only Booktoberfest event in our neighborhood is “Bookish Happy Hour” from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Flying Bike Cooperative Brewery, 8570 Greenwood Ave. Buy a drink and chat with fellow book lovers about what you’re reading, as well as your favorite books and authors.

See the Booktoberfest website for the full schedule of events citywide.
