Gumshoers follow the clues.

Purchase a $20 entry form ($15 if you buy two or more at once), and follow the 30 clues to discover interesting yard art and fun neighborhood trivia. Completed entry forms go into a random drawing for $100 gift cards from local businesses: ‎Phinney Market Pub & Eatery, Red Mill Burgers, El Chupacabra, Greenwood Hardware, Nutty Squirrel Gelato, Ken’s Market, Phinney Books, Pete’s Egg Nest, The Olive and Grape, and Top Ten Toys.
The Gumshoe is even more fun when done with a group of friends or family to help figure out clues. Stumped? Check out the Gumshoe’s Facebook page to see some hints, call the Gumshoe Answer Man (his number is on the entry form) and he’ll help you get back on track, check out this preview video, or join the semi-guided “Procrastishoe” on the final day, Sunday, Aug. 14.
The Gumshoe has raised more than $43,000 for local non-profits in the last 11 years; and organizer Mike Veitenhans is hoping to beat its best-year fundraising total of $5,800 this year. One-hundred percent of this year’s funds will be split equally between the Greenwood Senior Center, Greenwood Elementary School PTA and Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church Food Bank.
Entry forms will be on sale at Ken’s Market, 7231 Greenwood Ave. N. (debit or credit card, cash or check payable to “PNA”); Phinney Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N. (credit card, cash or check); and Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N. (cash or check only) from Aug. 5-14.
(Note: The Gumshoe is a PhinneyWood sponsor.)
