Community Conversation on Homelessness at Greenwood Senior Center Wednesday

by | May 31, 2016

The Greenwood Senior Center is hosting a Community Conversation on Homelessness from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday at 525 N. 85th St.

This year’s One Night Count, a “point-in-time” survey of the homeless, turned up 4,505 people living in the streets of Seattle. The mayor has recently declared a state of emergency over this issue. Who are the people these numbers refer to? How should we as a community respond to the needs that we see? Come prepared to have an open and honest conversation about the issues around this increasingly visible problem. Special guests: Rex Hohlbein, Executive Director of Homeless in Seattle/Facing Homelessness; Tim Harris, Executive Director of Real Change; and Sinan Demirel, long-time former Executive Director of ROOTS teen shelter.
