Luso Food & Wine, 8218 Greenwood Ave. N., presents Vintage Brazilian Jazz with Choroloco, joined by Olivia Duffy and Rene Berblinger from Portland, from 6-9 p.m. Friday. Admission is $8 at the door or $25 with dinner and a glass of wine. Reservations are recommended; call 206-694-3524.
Taproot Theatre, 204 N. 85th St., continues its run of “The Realization of Emily Linder” through June 11. This weekend, $20 tickets for level C seats are available (in person only) beginning two hours before performances (8 p.m. Friday, 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. Saturday).
Couth Buzzard Books, 8310 Greenwood Ave. N., is hosting its first Jazz Festival with Earshot Jazz this weekend. Check out their schedule online. Suggested admission donation is a minimum of $5 for a single show, $10 for an all-day pass, and $25 for all weekend.
Seattle School Boardmember Rick Burke is hosting a District II community meeting from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday at the Greenwood Library, 8016 Greenwood Ave. N.
Tim’s Tavern, 602 N. 105th St., presents rock music by The Lark and the Owl, Rory Ok and The Worst Band Ever, and Pirex Saturday night.
If you’re heading out of the neighborhood, remember that:
- Northwest Folklife Festival is at the Seattle Center all weekend.
- The Mariners play Minnesota at 7:10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 1:10 p.m. Sunday.
And remember that many places will be closed on Monday, in honor of Memorial Day, including all library branches, banks and schools.
Evergreen Washelli, 11111 Aurora Ave. N., is hosting its 90th annual Memorial Day Service on Monday. The concert begins at 1:30 p.m., followed by a special ceremony at 2 p.m.
