Seattle Humane MaxMobile Adoption Event from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at Mud Bay, 8532 1st Ave. NW.
Seattle Folklore Society presents Todalo Shakers at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Phinney Center in the Brick Building. Tickets in advance are $18 general, $16 SFS and PNA members; kids half price.
The Todalo Shakers play vintage jug band party blues and old time rags and stomps that sound like they are lifted right out of 1928 in Memphis or Dallas. The band features lots of harmony singing, making for a rich palette of vocal blends and a great feeling of camaraderie; the exuberance and fondness that the musicians feel for their material and for each other is unmistakable.
Daana String Quartet: The Scholarship Chamber Ensemble of the University of Washington performs at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Music Center of the Northwest, 901 N. 96th St.
