Annual Windermere Summer Splash at Green Lake on Saturday

by | Aug 14, 2015

Windermere, Seattle Parks and Recreation and the George Pocock Rowing Foundation are hosting the second annual Summer Splash from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at Green Lake. Most activities will be on the southwest corner of the park near the Green Lake Small Craft Center.
The free, daylong event celebrates active summer fun for families with live entertainment, kid-friendly activities, food booths, free giveaways, and the opportunity to try out canoeing, kayaking, stand-up paddle boarding and rowing. The Corporate Cup Regatta will see 13 Seattle companies’ teams face off in crew races.
The Small Craft Center will hold an open house from 10-11 a.m. and again from 1:30-3 p.m. where anyone ages 8 and above can try out canoeing, kayaking and stand-up paddleboards. Ages 12 and up can also try their hand at rowing.
Thirty-five vendors will be set up with food or fun activities for the family, including an obstacle course from Sonic CrossFit Kids & Teens, indoor rowing machines at Pocock Rowing Center, parachute and art project by Gymboree, and many activities by different Windermere offices, including soap box derby cars, mini golf, bouncy house, and rubber duck racing.
You can see the full list and program here, and a vendor map here.
