Pulling from his own imagination, with influences that span from Godard to Lucas, Captain Chambers is an uncompromising cinematic poet, a celluloid artist and an auteur. He believes in the significance of individual expression, imagination and the sacred and creative self. You may love or hate his work, but you will not find another like him. He paints his stories with moving images and light, and he is not bound by critique or rules. To him, rules are for amateurs, and he loathes the idea of red carpets. Captain Chambers is simple man, but he is a storyteller. Let him tell you a story.

Couch Fest Film Festival at locations around the region, including a home in Phinney Ridge, on Saturday. Purchase a $10 pass for all locations. Films play on the hour at 1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m., 5 p.m. and 6 p.m.

Everyone’s favorite community building event disguised as a film festival is back, welcoming strangers into private homes and alternative locations to watch movies. Couch Fest is like a pub crawl, but for movie watching. Attendees can go from house to house, all over the city, watching programs of short films, all for one ticket price.

And if you’re heading downtown late Saturday or early Sunday, be advised that State Route 99 will be closed between the Battery Street Tunnel and the West Seattle Bridge from midnight Saturday to 5 a.m. Sunday.
