Woodland Park Zoo’s animals will get special Valentine’s Day themed treats on Saturday, from heart-shaped ice pops, to herbal bouquets or heart-shaped steaks.
Saturday is Seattle’s 20th annual Neighbor Appreciation Day, a special day when you’re encouraged to reach out to neighbors old and new and celebrate what makes your neighborhood special. Fire Station 21 at 7304 Greenwood Ave. N. will host an open house starting at 11 a.m. as part of the city-wide celebration
Celebrate the Lunar New Year on Saturday at Ridge Romp at the Phinney Neighborhood Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., with the Mak Fai Washington Kung Fu Club.
We will begin with a short story about the history of Chinese New Year, the Chinese Zodiacs and the Year of the Horse. Then the talented folks at Mak Fai Washington Kung Fu Club will give a martial arts demonstration, play some traditonal drums, and end with a Lion Dance!

Traffic will be dicey around Green Lake Saturday morning during the Love’Em or Leave’Em Valentines Day 5K Run. Look out for more cars and street closures from 8-11:30 a.m.

Seattle Folklore Society presents Jerron ‘Blind Boy’ Paxton and Lauren Sheehan at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Phinney Center, 6532 Phinney Ave. N., in the Brick Building. Cost is $17 general, $15 SFS/PNA members and seniors; kids half price.
Community Soup Night Potluck at the Phinney Center from 5-7 p.m. Sunday.
