Seattle & King County offering amnesty on pet licenses this month

by | Apr 1, 2013

Seattle and King County are offering pet owners a one-month amnesty on pet licenses during the month of April. So if you let your pet’s license lapse or never purchased one to begin with, now’s your chance to do it without a penalty.

You can purchase or renew a pet license online, or at most City of Seattle Neighborhood Service Centers (the closest to our neighborhood is in Ballard, next to the library), or at the Seattle Animal Shelter, 2061 15th Ave. W.

The cost to license a dog is $47 for one year ($27 if spayed or neutered), or $69 for two years ($37 if spayed or neutered).

A cat license will cost $30 for one year ($20 if spayed or neutered), or $45 for two years ($27 if spayed or neutered).

Special licenses may be granted to miniature goats for $20 for one year or $30 for two years; and potbellied pigs for $120 for the first year and a $30 annual renewal. (Restrictions apply; call 206-386-4262 for more information.)
