Two private schools in the neighborhood are hosting open houses on Saturday, Jan. 26.
Christ the King Catholic School, 415 N. 117th St., is hosting its open house for preschool through 8th grade at 4:30 p.m. in the Fitzgerald Room, followed by Bingo Night at 6 p.m.

KapKa Cooperative School, 510 N. 49th St., just south of Woodland Park Zoo, is hosting its open house from 2-4 p.m. on Jan. 26.

Founded in 1988 by Ladell Black, former Peace Corps worker and long-time teacher, the school was named KapKa, an English approximation of a Klamath word for a small evergreen tree, to represent the natural growth that occurs when a child is rooted in a nurturing environment.
