Businesses coming and going in Phinney-Greenwood

by | Mar 12, 2012

Hummus Cafe opened on the corner of 85th and Greenwood last Wednesday, serving up Middle Eastern food in the spot formerly occupied by Sweet on You.

Varnish Salon is moving into the space formerly occupied by Tommy’s hair salon, at 7407 Greenwood Ave. N., next to Santoro’s Books. It will provide hair, skin and nail services.

The Urban Lola vintage and consignment shop has opened at 6003 Phinney Ave. N. It sells women’s clothing, shoes and accessories. It is open from 12-6 p.m. Wednesday, and 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday through Saturday (closed Sunday-Tuesday). Phone is 206-393-7028.

Theo’s Fresh Produce at 8221 Greenwood Ave. N. is closing. It opened in the Fall of 2010, and was put up for sale a year later.

Thanks to everyone for all the tips, and thanks to Don for the photo of Hummus Cafe, and James for the photos of Urban Lola and Varnish.
Update Tuesday: As we reported last week, STRUT shoe store at 7511 Greenwood Ave. N. is also closing.
And The High Class, a medical marijuana dispensary that opened at 7601 Greenwood Ave. N. in December, closed sometime in February. The business’s voice mail says it is under new management and being remodeled. Our messages to the new and former owners have not been returned.
