Weekend events here and beyond

Lots to do in Phinney-Greenwood and nearby neighborhoods this weekend.
The Phinney Farmers Market runs from 3-7 p.m. Friday in the lower parking lot of the Phinney Neighborhood Center, with vendors selling fresh veggies, fruit, jam, cider, wine, eggs, meat, ice cream, pizza, flowers and a lot more.
The Gumshoe 5K Walk started last Friday and ends Sunday. Buy a $20 entry form at Ken’s Market, Phinney Market or the Phinney Neighborhood Center and follow the clues on a quest around the neighborhood. More fun with a group! All proceeds go to the Greenwood Senior Center. (Disclosure: the Gumshoe is a PhinneyWood sponsor.)

Discover the quirky sights around the neighborhood by doing the Gumshoe.
Radio Disney hosts “Safety Safari” at Woodland Park Zoo from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Radio Disney AM 1250 will play music and teach new dance moves, plus give away prizes, all on the zoo’s North Meadow. Visitors can also check out the Safety Safari stations, where families can receive a free child ID kit, meet Smokey the Bear, and learn how to build an emergency kit. Included with zoo admission.
In Wallingford, Solid Ground hosts Pirates and Pipsqueaks – an old fashioned carnival that benefits services for homeless kids – from 12-5 p.m. Sunday at 1501 N. 45th St. Enjoy vintage carnival games, the Seafair Pirates, the Seattle Derby Brats (who will perform roller skating demos), and live music.
Sunday is the last day to get a free pizza from Tutta Bella at 4411 Stone Way N. in Wallingford. The local chain is giving away one free pizza per table after being named Independent Pizzeria of the Year. (And this week owner Joe Fugere even got to meet with President Obama and tell him how big banks wouldn’t give him a loan to open his fourth restaurant, but a small local bank did.)
In Magnolia, rev your engines for the annual classic Auto Show from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday on McGraw Street between 32nd Ave West and 34th Ave West.
In Ballard, Thai Siam hosts its 23rd annual benefit dinner from 12-8:30 p.m. on Sunday. Enjoy live traditional Thai classical music, dancers and local artists. Proceeds from your meal go to three local charities. Thai Siam has raised $220,000 for charity in the last 22 years.
In Green Lake, see Shakespeare’s “Much Ado About Nothing,” performed by Seattle Public Theater’s Youth Ensemble at the Green Lake Bathhouse, but this time it’s set in the American Wild West. Performances are at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. It’s free, with a suggested donation to the education program.
You can check out our events calendar any time for more neighborhood happenings.
