Haiti benefit concert raises $11,000+

by | Jun 15, 2010

The Phinney Neighborhood Community Chorus raises money each year to support a school in Haiti. Last year’s benefit concert raised a record of more than $10,000. But chorus member Mike Veitenhans tells us audience members were feeling especially generous at last Saturday’s concert.

(T)his year the total was $11,327! 100% of the money goes to Lekol Pa Nou, a primary school in Pichon, Haiti, funded by Education for Prosperity, the non-profit organization with which the chorus has been affiliated for the past several years. Plans are already underway for next year’s benefit concert, so circle Sunday, June 12, on your 2011 calendar.
