Motorcycle vs. car accident on 3rd Avenue

by | Sep 16, 2009

Update 7:10 p.m.: 3rd Avenue NW at NW 70th Street has reopened after an injury accident involving a motorcycle and a car.

According to witness Siera Wilson, the motorcyclist was heading northbound on 3rd when his bike clipped a westbound car sticking out into the intersection at NW 70th Street. The motorcyclist ended up going to the hospital, with what appeared to be a back injury.

The car driver, who was not injured, could be seen picking a piece of her car out of the intersection:

Wilson was walking by with her dog as the accident happened. She said the motorcycle driver tried to avoid the car, but didn’t quite make it, clipping the front of the car. “He let go of his motorcycle and went flying about eight feet,” she said.

Third Avenue was closed briefly but is now open in both directions.
