Zoo elephant protest Saturday

FYI: A group that wants Woodland Park Zoo to send their elephants to a sanctuary in Tennesee plans to protest outside the zoo’s south entrance from 11 a.m. to noon, Saturday.

Friends of Woodland Park Zoo Elephants (“Friends”) is proud to join IDA (In Defense of Animals) for the International Day of Action for Zoo Elephants to expose the plight of elephants in zoos all over the world. helpelephants.com/idaez.html. There will be 30 demonstrations in the United States with more in Australia, Thailand, Spain, France, Mexico and Canada.

The protesters have made several appearances outside the zoo, including once last year during the zoo’s largest annual fundraising event.
