Carkeek pedestrian bridge closing for repairs

by | Jun 3, 2009

Carkeek Park’s pedestrian bridge over the Burlington Northern Santa Fe railroad tracks will close during the day for two weeks for repairs. Repair work starts next Monday, June 8, and will be finished before June 22. The bridge will close between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. It will open after 3 p.m. and be open on weekends.
Seattle Parks and Recreation says the bridge to the beach needs safety upgrades, including replacement of the safety fence, strengthening the structure, and repairing concrete footings.
