Santoro’s celebrates National Children’s Book Week

by | May 11, 2009

Santoro’s Books at 7405 Greenwood Ave. N. is celebrating National Children’s Book Week starting today, with a special book drive for Page Ahead through May 17. Page Ahead provides children’s books and literacy services to more than 55,000 children in Washington state every year. To help children in need develop strong reading skills, this year Page Ahead will give 14,843 new books to kids in Seattle.

Between May 11 and 17, we are collecting NEW books to donate to Page Ahead Children’s Literacy Program, a local non-profit organization that gives new books to kids in need. In our effort to help, we will offer a 20% discount on donations you purchase that week. We have a new shipment of remaindered children’s books in perfectly new condition. These books are reasonably priced, and for only $5.00 or $6.00 you can place a new book in the hands of a child. Cash donations will be accepted and put toward the purchase of new books for Page Ahead. AND we are scheduling an extra special Storytime with Steph on Saturday the 16th at noon. For those who haven’t heard her exuberant readings, you’re in for a treat!
