Low-cost life jacket sale at Green Lake

by | May 12, 2009

Seattle Parks and Recreation is selling low-cost life jackets for children and adults on five dates this summer at Green Lake. The Saturday sales are from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. on May 16, June 20, July 18, Aug. 15 and Sept. 19.
Life jackets will be available in infant to youth large sizes for $20, and teen to adult size XXL for $30, at the Green Lake Community Center, 7201 E. Green Lake Dr. N.

Why buy a lifejacket? Drowning is the second leading cause of unintentional injury death among children ages 1 – 14 years old. Wearing a life jacket saves lives.

Seattle Parks & Rec is partnering with Seattle Children’s Hospital, Fisheries Supply, Rehab Without Walls, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary for the event.
