Free public tours of Viaduct

by | Mar 5, 2009

Since many people in Phinney and Greenwood travel downtown on the Alaskan Way Viaduct, here’s a heads up about free public walking tours of the Viaduct on Saturday, March 21.
The Viaduct will be closed to traffic for an inspection, so tour-goers can get an up-close look at the structure, which may eventually be demolished for a bored tunnel and street improvements.
The 45-minute tours run from 9:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. Reservations are required. E-mail your name and contact information, or call 1-888-AWV-LINE. You’ll receive a confirmation e-mail. For safety purposes, no children under the age of 16 or pets are allowed on the tours.
