West Woodland Park sandbox covered by wood chips

Bruce emailed us to say that the Parks Department brought in a ton of fresh wood chips for under the playground equipment at West Woodland Park next to the zoo, but they also completely covered the sandbox. That used to be the sandbox in the foreground of this photo:

I dug down a good eight inches or so with my hands and never reached the sand. Dewey Potter at the Parks Department says she’s looking into whether it was inadvertent or intentional.
