Armed robbery in north Greenwood

by | Feb 2, 2009

The Seattle Police Department blotter reports an armed robbery last night at Greenwood Avenue North and 104th St.

At 8:20 p.m., a lone male suspect with a thick Hispanic accent, entered a business in the 10400 block of Greenwood Ave. N., armed with a handgun and a knife. The suspect, who was wearing a mask, forced the two employees to get behind the counter. He then held a knife to the throat of the female employee while he forced the male employee, at gunpoint, to open the cash register. The employees then gave the suspect cash from the register and he fled from the scene on foot. A subsequent K9 track was unsuccessful.
The male employee attempted to follow the suspect but wasn’t able keep him in sight beyond a few blocks. The employees were not injured. The investigation continues.
