Car slams into railing, bike at Greenwood Library

A sports car slammed into the stair railing and a bike at Greenwood Library yesterday afternoon, but no one was injured. Here’s what the railing looks like today:

A librarian told us today that the car was speeding on Greenwood Avenue when it failed to negotiate the turn onto 81st. The stair railing was wrapped around the car, and the car had significant damage. She said the car “creamed a bike” which belonged to one of the library’s teen volunteers.
