Judge dismisses case against sale of PNA building

Last Friday a Superior Court judge granted summary judgment to dismiss a case against the sale of several surplus Seattle School District buildings, including the old Allen School building, which has been the home of the Phinney Neighborhood Association for more than two decades.

The PNA rented the two buildings at N. 67th St. and Phinney Avenue from the district, and jumped at the chance to purchase a permanent home. The PNA is in the midst of a $12 million capital campaign to buy the site, and make major improvements, including an improved entrance, ADA access, better landscaping and community gathering spaces.

The plaintiffs have 30 days to appeal.
