Mural can be saved, but will the city pay?

Last month the city painted over a beautiful mural by the Woodland Park Zoo, sparking outrage from neighbors. But now a Bellevue company with an innovative technology — a spray wash with volcanic crystals — has proven that it can remove the layer of gray paint, restoring the mural. It tested the spray on a small section of the mural yesterday…

But now the question is, will the city pay the $5,000-$10,000 to restore the entire mural? SDOT said it would consider it. Stay tuned…
